Simon Morrow


  • Simon is a partner in the occupational disease team in Manchester. He was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1989 and in Hong Kong in 1990. Simon joined BLM in 1997 and became a partner in 2000.

  • Simon specialises in occupational disease claims and has a particular interest in claims arising from workplace exposure to dust, particularly asbestos-related claims, and claims for workplace stress. He also has a particular interest in claims arising from sport and relating to the leisure industry.  He acted for the successful defendants in both Wombwell v Grimsby Fish Dock Enterprises Ltd (a Court of Appeal decision on the extent of the duty owed by an occupier to its visitors) and the important asbestos exposure case of McGregor v Genco (FC) Ltd.

  • Simon has produced articles for The Lawyer and Post Magazine, amongst others, and is a frequent contributor to BLM publications. He is a member of the BLM editorial board for disease-related publications and BLM's occupational disease and leisure industry focus groups. He is a regular speaker at internal and external conferences and customer training events.
