  • I am a Partner in BLM’s Scottish insurance team with over 18 years’ experience in litigation, acting for insurers and self-insured clients as defenders in both the Court of Session and sheriff courts.
  • I joined BLM in January 2015. I have specialised in personal injury cases since 2004, initially acting for a number of legal expenses insurers and accident management companies representing pursuers and defenders before focusing on defender personal injury work. I have a wealth of experience in dealing with all types of claims including medical negligence, accidents at work, slips and trips and road traffic accidents involving severe and catastrophic injuries, multiple heads of claim and fatalities.
  • I have particular expertise in handling high value and complex cases and claims where there are validation concerns. I also have niche expertise in dealing with claims pursued with reference to the Road Traffic Act 1988, Article 75 and the Uninsured Drivers’ Agreement. I regularly provide advice to clients in respect of motor insurance disputes concerning policy interpretation and the application of the 1988 Act.
  • I am a member of FOIL and sit on the Scottish FOIL Fraud sector focus team.
  • I regularly participate in claim surgeries for insurer clients and deliver training on developing trends in Scotland. I also work with insurers on litigation avoidance and strategy operations.
