- I joined BLM in 2007 and have over 25 years' experience of investigating and defending historic and more recent abuse claims.
- I lead the Manchester abuse team and specialise in highly sensitive claims of physical and sexual exploitation and professional negligence arising from a range of settings: local authorities, children's services, schools, churches and care environments for a number of insurer clients.
- My work includes complex issues of limitation, duty of care, breach of duty and causation, forensic analysis of substantial and often historic records, human rights, family and criminal law, data protection and confidentiality.
- I acted for custodial and educational clients in the Independent Inquiry on Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA)
Patrick Raggett v Preston Catholic College and Society of Jesus (2012) The the claimant was seeking in the region of £5m damages and was awarded under £55,000. BLM secured three years' costs protection.
