Experience

  • I am responsible for BLM's engagement with government departments and regulators on policy and public affairs issues and consultations affecting the firm and its clients across the UK and Ireland. I have recently lead BLM’s activity in connection with the reform of the discount rate and the reviews of the European Motor Insurance Directive. I coordinated much of the firm’s work around implementation of the Insurance Act 2015.
  • I was a member of the Civil Justice Council of England & Wales for ten years until January 2016 (during which time I worked on various aspects of the Jackson reforms). I am a regular speaker and experienced commentator on legal and procedural reform. In addition, I author BLM’s policy blog, www.blmpolicyblog.com
  • I am a member of the Ogden Working Party (which publishes official actuarial tables of multipliers for use in personal injury claims). I also edit the chapter on foreign claims in Bingham and Berrymans' Personal Injury and Motor Claims Cases and have acted as contributing editor to the Law Society’s Litigation Funding Handbook.
