In his latest coronavirus press conference, whilst urging caution, Boris Johnson indicated why it was now "the right moment to proceed" with step 4 of the roadmap out of lockdown and the removal of Covid-19 restrictions in England.
He highlighted the adverse implications of unlocking at a later date, when children are due to go back to school, the weather is colder and the NHS is under greater strain from other illnesses.
