Partner and member of the BLM Vnuk team, Terry Renouf is attending the 16th European Traffic Law Days Conference in Budapest on 8-9 October.
Taking place at the Danubius Gandhotel Margitszingel in Budapest, the two-day event is organised by the Institute for European Traffic Law, a Luxembourg-based association of eminent experts in European traffic law, which is dedicated to the study, improvement and further development of the law relating to mobility in Europe.
Discussions that are of particular interest to Terry and BLM are those scheduled to take place around motor insurance. The Government will very soon have to change the rules about motor insurance law to bring them in line with a important and Europe-wide court case called Vnuk, dealing with what accidents and risks have to be covered by compulsory motor insurance.
The Vnuk team is liaising with UK Government, responding to consultations and assisting with submissions to the European Union on changes to EU Directives. In addition to this, the team is leading the way to prepare and educate insurers, policy makers and their customers in advance of these significant changes.
