TalkTalk hack

26 Oct 2015

Last week, communications firm TalkTalk was the victim of a major hack and data leak, with the personal details of a large number of customers stolen.

BLM partner and head of technology, media and telecoms Tim Smith, has commented on the issue in The Guardian;

“These types of attacks are becoming increasingly common in the UK and it is not at all unusual to find that hackers use an initial DDoS to distract a business’s IT team and then follow up with a second attack trying to steal information.

“This underlines how at risk businesses are and how important it is to take all precautionary measures to protect customer data.”

Tim’s comments have also featured in The Financial Times, The Times, Post, IT Pro and Techno Stream.
