How do councils manage risk and ensure good governance in commercial project? Its not new for council's to be involved in varied commercial ventures - recent statutes have expanded the opportunity for involvement such as the Localism Act 2011 and the Local Government Act 2003.

In an article for ALARM's winter edition of Stronger magazine* BLM partner and head of public sector, Paul Tarne discusses the various routes that councils can take and the options open to them, as well as insurance and risk considerations when proceeding with a commercial project.
