Motor insurers and SMEs in firing line as court fee rises are considered

BLM's director of policy and Government affairs, Alistair Kinley has spoken to Post Magazine about the proposed court fee increase.

"Certainly in personal injury claims there is little doubt these fees will ultimately be passed on to defendants and their insurers, which is likely to put pressure on premiums. That runs very much against the grain of nearly all the recent claims reform initiatives from the MoJ, whether in the Laspo Act, the portal regime or the ongoing whiplash reforms..."
