Legal Update: Exposure and the global threat

BLM partner David Kidman looks at how exposure endocrine disrupting chemicals can generate an increase in claims, in the latest legal update for Post Magazine.

"A recent study published in the Endocrine Society’s Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism stated that “EDC exposures in the European Union are likely to contribute substantially to disease and dysfunction... with costs in the hundreds of billions of euros per year”. Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation considers EDCs a global threat that needs to be resolved. How does EDC exposure arise and what is the likelihood of successful claims?"
