How using analytics is helping Managing General Agents make better informed claims decisions

06 Jul 2018

We are busy preparing for the MGAA Conference and Exhibition: 'The Future of Insurance' on 12 July 2018 at the Hilton Bankside (London). We look forward to being a part of this event and are proud to once again be a principle sponsor.

The agenda for the conference explores issues facing businesses and what challenges lay ahead for MGAs in today’s highly competitive environment. The afternoon sessions will more specifically step forward to 2028 and what may emerge over the next decade.

Various members of the BLM team will be at the event, including our Head of Analytics, Andrew Dunkley. With a career spanning over 10 years, Andrew joined BLM in December 2016. He is not only a well-respected lawyer, he has gained a strong reputation as a data analyst.

Analytics is fast becoming essential for anyone who takes decisions in relation to litigation, whether it’s how to run a case or what level of reserves to assign. By combining real legal insight with the power of statistics and machine learning, we intend to better equip our teams, and our customers, with the knowledge to make the right decisions, earlier in the process.”

The event will showcase our valuable analytics tools. Used to model decisions and possible consequences, this tool is ideal for analysing complex scenarios, even those with a broad range of variables and limited data markers. It better equips our lawyers and clients, aiding them to make the best decision at the right time about whether to litigate or settle. Through a tried and tested data model, the tool produces accurate data for settlement decisions to be based upon and enables key dispute elements to be weighted by relevance to the outcome.

Visit our BLM team at stand 74 at the conference to learn more about the work underway through BLM Analytics, debate how this is impacting clients in the London Market, and the potential benefits to MGAs.  Contact Charlotte Dartford if you would like to arrange to meet us during the day.
