Health and safety sentencing guidelines: fines rise significantly in first year

06 Mar 2017

BLM's head of health and safety, Helen Devery and trainee Erin Monaghan have written an article for Airmic News on the latest findings since the revised health and safety guidelines, one year on.

Helen and Erin discusses the key points to the revised guidelines, what the courts must consider and what we can learn from the past year when looking at the prosecutions. They highlight the range of fines from the last 21 months and explain how BLM's health and safety tracker can identify better safety management and what organisations, both big and small, should be doing to identify and reduce these risks.

Helen and Erin's article has been published in the March edition of Airmic News, and is available online here.
