Global Insurance Law Connect Seminar Series: Addressing key challenges for insurers

23 Nov 2018

What in the world is going on in financial lines and professional liability?

This is just one of the questions we set out to answer in a series of events run this year by international network, Global Insurance Law Connect.

Bringing together our leading international legal experts, we hosted a number of seminars to explore and discuss the major challenges our insurer clients are experiencing in different jurisdictions around the globe.

We have created a paper which focuses on the key highlights from those discussions, going into detail on the challenges and opportunities facing insurers, as well as providing a valuable insight into legal and regulatory issues, either local or international.

The seminars covered:

  • GDPR - addressing the knock on effect of the new UK regulations, and how these differ with the existing rules in Belgium, Italy, India and the USA.
  • “In Italy GDPR fines are not insurable, and I do not expect any change in this respect.”
  • Professional Liability & Financial Lines – common threads surrounding claims made policy issues, and some real local diversity in the topics that are keeping our network lawyers and their clients awake at night.
  • Directors & Officers – at a time of economic uncertainty, we look at how the D&O market is responding in the UK, Europe and further afield.
