Concerns grow over Coronavirus claims fraud

Claims farmers looking to exploit the new type of claims arising from coronavirus will contibute to an increase in fraud, according to a feature in Insurance Post.

Ben FitzHugh, head of intelligence at BLM, said: 

“The Covid-19 pandemic will, in my opinion, lead to an increase in spurious and potentially fraudulent claims. We know that in times of economic downturn the propensity to pursue spurious claims will increase. This will be driven, from source, by claims farmers..."
