Congratulations to BLM strategic advisor, Guy Munnoch, who took on the City 3 Peaks challenge to raise almost £3 million in aid of Outward Bound.
Guy was joined by a 30-man team to raise money for the charity which supports the development of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds through outdoor activities.
To complete the challenge, Guy abseiled down three of the tallest buildings in the City of London - the Gherkin, the Cheesegrater and the Walkie Talkie, with each presenting its own unique challenge.
Guy said: “The actual event was pretty stimulating - I am not a great one for heights and so when I leant backwards at the top of the first building, the Gherkin, the sheer scale of the challenge suddenly came sharply into focus.
“By the time it came to the second and highest building, the Cheesegrater, I experienced a few flashbacks to my days in the Paras - I used to jump out of aircraft flying lower than the Cheesegrater.”
The final challenge was the descent of the Walkie Talkie which is directly next door to the Plantation Place office in London - Guy reflected that this was "a fitting place to finish with the BLM office within screaming distance!"
Guy added: “Collectively we managed to raise an amazing amount which I believe to be close to £3 million and none of this would have been possible without BLM’s support. Thank you to everyone”
