BLM, the UK and Ireland’s leading risk and insurance law business, has strengthened its team in Northern Ireland with the appointment of new partner Patrick Connolly. Patrick joins the firm’s Belfast office from another leading litigation firm.
Patrick has over 13 years’ experience in representing the interests of insurance companies in relation to defending claims against policyholders, advising on insurance cover and indemnity issues and dealing with suspected fraud and the recovery of insurers’ outlay from third parties. As well as advising insurers and corporate policyholders, Patrick also advises public sector customers and construction companies in the defence of personal injury claims and the recovery of properties from defaulting tenants.
Commenting on the new appointment partner and head of the firm’s Irish offices, Peter Campbell, said: “I am delighted to welcome Patrick to the BLM team. He is a very valued addition to our growing team in team in Belfast, bringing with him a range of experience across the corporate and public landscape. I look forward to working closely with him.”
Patrick added: “The opportunity for me to move to a firm with the breadth, scope and success of BLM is very exciting for me. The business has an impressive roster of customers with an ambition to grow further in the risk and insurance market at home and abroad. I am looking forward to being part of the team.”
