BLM publishes net zero statement of intent

09 Nov 2021

As COP26 draws to a close this week, we have outlined our ambitions and activity in relation to climate actions and our steps to becoming net zero.

This outline builds on the work done under our One Planet Strategy which includes:

  • Digital First strategy launched with removal of printers across all offices, demonstrating an 89% reduction in paper consumption 19/20 to 20/21
  • Move to our new G1 office in the centre of Glasgow in 2020 which is ranked as BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) ‘very good’ and more recently, our ‘BREEAM excellent’ new Manchester office at Two New Bailey
  • Signing of a Green Energy deal that sees 90% of BLM’s estate powered by 100% renewable energy
  • Greenhouse gas emissions data gathering and calculations reported monthly to the board
