BLM will be taking the stage at two Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Regional Market Forums in Glasgow and Belfast this week.
BLM partner Andrew Gilmour will be speaking to delegates at the Regional Market Forum in Glasgow on Wednesday, 10 December. Andrew will take the stage to provide a legal update to delegates covering a number of recent developments under Scottish law, which will include the forthcoming Insurance Bill.
Partners Alison Cassidy and Aine Tyrrell will be presenting at the Regional Market Forum on Thursday, 11 December in Belfast. Alison and Aine will also be discussing the highly anticipated Insurance Bill with delegates and outlining the critical changes to the law for insurers. Together, they will be discussing key aspects of the Bill including pre-contractual duty of disclosure/fair presentation; proportionate remedies for breach; effect of warranties; insurer’s remedies for fraudulent claims and, group policies and fraud. They will also touch on the legal landscape in Northern Ireland for 2015 and recent case law developments in respect of disease cases.
The Forums combine in-depth workshops with thought-provoking presentations and networking opportunities for CII members and delegates.
The event in Belfast marks a first for BLM in Northern Ireland, following the combination on 1 December with leading insurance and risk law firm, Campbell Fitzpatrick Solicitors.
