Insurance and risk law specialist BLM has appointed two new directors to its operations board in a drive to develop the firm’s business improvement agenda and Go to Market offering.
Adrian Spencer has joined BLM as Business Improvement Director from insurer, Zurich, where he was the Commercial Broker and Claims Services Director. Adrian has extensive experience in driving change in large and complex operations and coupled with his time spent at Ernst & Young as a Management Consultant he is very well placed to move BLM forward from a strategic and change management perspective.
Supporting Adrian in leading BLM’s positive change programme is Nicola Lynch, the firm’s new Director – Go to Market. Nicola has taken over the leadership of the Go to Market team. She has built and led high-performance teams in professional services and major corporate environments, as well as running her own family business. Nicola has held roles at Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co and Ernst & Young, where she led on all aspects of business development, marketing and communications, advising on strategy and operational delivery.
Mike Brown, Senior Partner at BLM, said: “Some months ago we embarked on a programme of business improvement for BLM and we appointed Adrian to lead this for us. This is about real change for the good and investing in our future; a way to help us evolve our business to continually deliver new ways of working that enable us to respond in a more agile way to make changes in the competitive market in which we operate. Those developments will include implementing new products, investing in business intelligence and operational business process reviews. Adrian will ensure the business improvement agenda remains our top priority and aligned to the needs of our business and those of our customers.
“With her passion for business development and marketing, and her ability to actively embrace change and the opportunity it brings with it, Nicola will be a great asset to BLM. She will work closely with Adrian and other members of the board to play an instrumental role in ensuring that BLM operates at a consistently high level across the firm, making informed decisions based on the right commercial awareness. I am thrilled to have them both on board.”
