'Management wants greater diversity' - BLM's Jennette Newman talks women in insurance

31 Jan 2017

Head of Lloyd's and the London Market and partner at BLM, Jennette Newman has spoken to Reactions Magazine about women in insurance and the need for greater diversity at management level.

Speaking of the "fantastic strides" that have been made across the industry in recent years with women in leadership and senior roles, Jennette said: "I think it would be fair to say that the need to address diversity and inclusion in the workplace is no longer underestimated. We know that some employer's policy on diversity and workforce inclusion is a decisive factor when choosing a career in the sector.

"Headlines this month tell us that the gender pay gap is narrowing but more has to be done, and that's why I think it's important for us to see more senior female role models in the industry; the likes of Inga Beale, Amanda Blanc and Sian Fisher are certainly helping us to raise the bar."
