Our policy development team connects our firm and our customers with government and policy makers at the highest levels, providing early briefings on government thinking, proposals for draft legislation and conveying views back to decision-makers. When insurance-related issues have a direct impact on our customers, we put our lobbying expertise to good use in protecting their interests.
We play an active role, gathering and sharing intelligence with customers and colleagues to develop policy and the law. But we do more than provide updates on legislative or legal developments, we provide practical, expert opinion to help our customers respond to government consultations and contribute to policy discussions on major reforms and challenges.
We actively support the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL) and take part in a variety of initiatives with the Association of British Insurers (ABI).
Our policy development team is headed up by Alistair Kinley, formerly of the ABI. Noted for his work leading to the predictable costs and fixed success fee schemes, Alistair brings more than 15 years’ experience in policy formulation. Alistair is a prominent member of the Civil Justice Council, and President of the Bodily Injury Claims Management Association. He prepares submissions to government officials and ministers, has co-ordinated test litigation, devised market-wide claims protocols, and has run various cross-industry working groups.
